Who is M&M Direct Care?
M&M Direct Care is an innovative and ambitious care company, established by registered nurses to assist with the ever growing need for top quality care in our locality. Our principal priority is to assist you and your loved one in any way we can. From our collective experience we understand the importance of availing of quality services, and how the same can be life changing. We pride ourselves upon offering individualised care to suit all service users, permitting us to obtain holistic care for all. Our teams' characteristics of competence, compassion, empathy and diligence knows no bounds.

M&M Direct Care provides care and support services to clients in their own homes across Newry and Mourne. We pride ourselves on doing things differently, through ensuring we have a culture of looking after care staff and adopting new technologies to improve the delivery of safe, effective, compassionate and well led services – in line with the standard set out by the care regulator in Northern Ireland, The Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA).​ We look after anyone aged 18 and over, and with a range of support needs and medical conditions from physical disabilities to frailty care (See our "What we Do" page for more)

Julia Mulligan
Director & Co-Founder
Registered Manager
Julia is a seasoned Registered Nurse with a strong background in both surgical and medical nursing. Her clinical experience is deeply rooted in providing care for patients with stroke, dementia, and those requiring palliative and cancer care. Julia’s dedication to patientcentred care is evident through her extensive work in both nursing homes and home care settings, where she has honed her skills in wound management and compassionate care for the elderly and vulnerable. Her holistic understanding of patient needs in these environments ensures that the company’s care services are delivered with the highest standards of professionalism and empathy
Mark Mulligan
Director & Co-Founder
Mark brings a wealth of clinical expertise to the team, having worked extensively as a Registered Nurse with specialised training in Intensive Care Units (ICU). His experience spans across a wide array of critical care areas, including Palliative Care, End-of-Life (EOL) support, and managing complex conditions such as cancer, respiratory, and neurological disorders. Previous to nursing, Mark worked for a private ambulance company that transferred patients for appointments, ward transfers and hospital to home.
Anne-Marie McShane
Director & Co-Founder
Anne Marie is a highly experienced Registered Nurse with a robust background in Accident & Emergency (A&E) nursing. Her clinical expertise extends to surgical, medical, and stroke care, where she has consistently demonstrated her ability to manage complex and urgent medical situations. Anne Marie’s experience in both nursing homes and home care environments complements her emergency care skills, allowing her to provide seamless, continuous care from acute interventions to long-term support. Her dynamic approach to nursing care and her ability to thrive in high-pressure situations make her a key leader in ensuring that the company can respond effectively to both routine and emergency care needs.
